the brewing process
Call us to make an appointment to begin your brew. We will have the kettle ready for you when you arrive.
STEP 1 - CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE BEERWhen you arrive at Brew Works it is time to select your favourite style of beer. We have A comprehensive list of recipes to choose from. You are sure to find something that suits your taste. Our beer list is available on this site. We are always creating new recipes, so if you have something specific in mind just ask our friendly staff to assist.
STEP 2 - COLLECT YOUR FRESH INGREDIENTSYou will be given a recipe sheet which sets out step by step the ingredients you will need to make your favourite brew. Our experienced staff can assist you. Then the brewing begins.
STEP 3 - BREW YOUR OWN FRESH BEERA staff member will have prepared your brewing kettle and will provide you with a step by step, easy to follow brewing guide. Your brew will be ready in approx. 1 hour and a staff member will help you to transfer the brew to a fermenting vessel.
STEP 4 - SIT BACK AND RELAXYour beer is now left in the safe hands of our brew staff. It will be transferred to the controlled temperature fermenting room where it will remain until fermentation has finished. It will then be transferred to the cool room where it will be left to settle and mature. The beer will be filtered and carbonated ready for you to bottle or keg.
STEP 5 - BOTTLING OR KEGGING
On bottling day your beer will be filtered, chilled and carbonated, ready to drink. If you wish to bring your own bottles, they must be clean. Our staff will assist you to sanitize and rinse the bottles ready for use. Your brew will fill approx. 144 x 330 ml bottles or 3 x19 l kegs. If you prefer to use kegs, just bring them in before the bottling date and we will clean and sanitize the kegs and transfer the beer for you.
Remember that brew works beer has no added chemicals or preservatives so it needs to be kept refrigerated at all times to prevent spoilage!
